Pre-conference Tour
HONG KONG 2016 attendees will have an optional pre-conference tour on 15 May, 2016. The Lantau Tour is scheduled to hold for approximate 7 hours with registration fee USD 65 (HKD 507) per person that includes Ngong Ping 360 standard, private
sightseeing coach and vegetarian lunch. This tour will be production focus on visiting the Big Buddha, Po Lin Monastery, Ngong Ping Cable Car and Tai O Village. Attendees can definitely enjoy a value-added delightful retreat from the dynamic cityscape in Lautau Island of Hong Kong.
Lantau Island is the largest outlying island that is home to Hong Kong’s most famous landmarks. Apart from the stunning mountain ranges, which make Lantau Island so unique, look at the spirituality and Buddhist practices that also drive the culture here. The BIG BUDDHA
The Hong Kong Big Buddha, which is also known as Tian Tan Buddha, was built as a source of inspiration and a place for contemplation. With over 250 metrics tons in weight and 34 meters (112ft) in height, it had become the largest seated outdoor
bronze Buddha statue in the world.
PO LIN MONASTERY
A Buddhist temple was founded by three monks from the Chinese mainland province of Jiangsu in 1906. The main temple building houses three bronze statues representing the Buddha of the past, present and future. Despite being a popular attraction to tourists, it still maintains its essence and traditions and is well-frequented by loyals.
TAI O VILLAGE
A traditional fishing village with wooden stilt houses built over the sea. Tai O also called "Eastern Venice". Mosaic of surprises with its tiny shop, shrines, local market, fishing junks and the daily routines in the stilt houses will definitely make a photographer’s dream and worth to join the trip.
Note: As this tour involves a fair amount of walking, please wear comfortable shoes and bring along appropriate sun & antimosquito protections.
NGONG PING CABLE CAR
It is a 5.7 km skyrail as a gondola lift connecting Tung Chung and Ngong Ping. Under the 20 minutes journey, travellers can enjoy the ever-changing picturesque panoramas across South China Sea, Hong Kong International Airport, North Lantau Country Park, and the Giant Buddha.
